Our body is a highly fascinating and complex mechanism. It is believed to be made up of tens of trillions of cells. If experts today fully understand the intricacies of it, we will likely be living in a disease-free world. Millions of cells are reproduced, while billions die every seconds (Yikes! degeneration rate > production rate). The preservation of our cells’ above average lifespan is therefore dependent on many factors whereby following healthy food protocols is one of them.
Ever since I discovered the Science of Nutritional Immunology, it has become an entrenched foundation to my health beliefs and helping me build my acceptance towards holistic approaches more openly. And so, I have stumbled upon many great websites out there pertaining to prevention for and healing our bodies. One of my favorites is a juicing website which very much aligns with my health principles, which is using phytonutrients to feed and strengthen our immune system.
The founder of the website called juicing-for-health.com is a lady called Sara Ding from Malaysia, where her forte is on helping people around the world to use juices as a method of health prevention. I love her website as it is refreshing just like fruit and vegetables juices. It is fully packed with knowledgeably detailed and simple 101 lessons on health basics before she goes into her juicing lessons and recipes.
In her holistic nutrition section, she introduces us to basic health that provides the following compact overview to:
1. Cells degeneration,
2. How our cells die, and
3. The basics we need to know about:
i) Waste elimination,
ii) Oxygen function,
iii) The importance of water, and
iv) Nutrients vital for our bodies.
I especially like her sections on harmful and healing foods that are laid out very short and sweet. Harmful foods are categorized as those that are acid-forming which we need to minimize in our diet, while healing foods are the complete opposite.
I only came to know about the definition of “acid-forming” foods from a friend who opened a wellness centre back in 2004. They are actually the wicked foods you are already familiar with, and that the majority of population likes to consume.
